You should make sure that your car is at least washed and vacuumed every week. This would include the tires and wheels. It is critical that your windows be cleaned regularly too. Your visibility becomes less and less the more you let your windows go. Even if they don't 'look' dirty, contaminants are there, and you will notice them when you are driving down the road on a dark night or in a storm. NOT the time to think, "Oh wow, my windows are dirty!" Now's also the time to use the detailing spray. It will give you that just waxed look without all the work.

In addition to your routine weekly detailing, it is recommended that you add a few things in every other week. This is the time to clean and polish any vinyl windows, wipe down and dust your interior surfaces like the console, dashboard, door panels and the like. It is critical that you keep your dash conditioned in Florida. The Florida sun will, not may, WILL ruin your interior if not maintained. This is also the time to make sure that your wheels and tires are actually detailed, not just cleaned. They should be treated or polished as appropriate. This should be done only with the proper brushes and supplies, or you will see the damage over time. It is easy to scratch the finish on your wheels by using the wrong brush or scuffing it with the tire brush. BE CAREFUL! Don't forget the detailing spray!!

After doing all of the above, your windows too should be polished, not just cleaned. Some people choose to use a wax-type product like Rain-X after to increase visibility in rain storms. This is a great idea. The interior needs to be treated as well. Vinyl should be treated and buffed and leather should be conditioned regularly. Again, the Florida sun in brutal and will ruin your interior before your very eyes. This is also the time to make sure all your air vents and 'cracks and crevices' are dusted. An interior brush is perfect for this job. It is soft and gets into all the fine grooves in your electronic panels. A vent brush does wonders too. Though time consuming, the rewards are GREAT!

Where it is normally recommended that you have your car waxed every six months, that is NOT the case here in Florida. Again, the sun is brutal. And, if you are keeping up with your weekly washing and detailing schedule, there is NO WAY your wax job is going to stand up to this heat for 6 full months. So, now is the time to wax, wax, wax. If you are the zealous type, now is when you pull the wheels off the car and detail them like you never have before. This is time consuming, but what's the first thing you notice about a car? IF the wheels are clean, it's them, right? It's also the time to wipe down and dust that engine compartment. Big work, but it's gorgeous to see an engine that's clean, isn't it?

This is the time to do the dirty work. All out sweat and tears hard work that pays off big dividends. Now is when you should degrease your engine and dress it for the ultimate shine. You should also take the time to treat all the rubber in there so as to extend the life and hey, it looks great!
